01 — History
SA Möbler's history goes back to 1896 – the year from which we have found the oldest accounts from the business. That makes SA Möbler part of a long Swedish furniture tradition, built on craftsmanship, materials knowledge and a strong desire to create furniture that stands the test of time.
Much has changed since then. Production has been modernised, working life has evolved and customer needs look different today than they did over a hundred years ago. But the foundation is the same: furniture is, and will always be, the heart of SA Möbler.

SA Möbler has evolved through generations from traditional furniture-making to modern production for offices, schools, public environments, meeting spaces and workplaces.

That knowledge means SA Möbler doesn't just sell furniture — it understands furniture, from concept and construction to production, delivery and use in real environments.
Founder of the modern SA Möbler
Kjell Hammar
When Kjell Hammar took over SA Möbler in 1983, a decisive chapter in the company's history began. With technical knowledge, entrepreneurial spirit and an unusually strong sense of function, quality and the future of the workplace, Kjell shaped the modern SA Möbler.
He saw early on that office furniture needed to be more than beautiful objects. They needed to work for people, for working days, for movement, ergonomics and changing needs.

As early as 1978, Kjell built his first height-adjustable desk in his garage, using parts from windscreen wipers and drain pipes. That was well ahead of its time. In 1987, electric height-adjustable desks were launched through the subsidiary SA Comfortable – before ergonomics had even become a selling point.
Over the years, SA Möbler under his leadership has developed Konto, Snitsa®, Snitsa XL, Index, Artur and the A-series – all combining Swedish furniture knowledge, considered design and practical function.

02 — Today
SA Möbler today – with broader possibilities
Today SA Möbler continues to develop. We stand on a strong furniture foundation, but use our experience in more ways. Our core business is still furniture – it is our heritage, our expertise and our focus.
That is why SA Möbler today also works with production, import and logistics – not as a way away from furniture, but as a way that strengthens the furniture business.
